Hawaii's hurricane season officially matches the Atlantic's: June 1 through November 30. Unlike the Caribbean or Mexican Riviera, though, direct hurricane strikes on the islands are genuinely rare — only a few major storms have caused significant damage in the past four decades, thanks to cooler surrounding waters that tend to weaken storms as they approach.
NCL's Pride of America, the only ship sailing Hawaii year-round without a foreign port call, continues its weekly Honolulu-based itinerary through hurricane season without disruption in a typical year. Passengers should still keep an eye on tropical weather advisories and understand that shore excursions can be adjusted if a storm does track close enough to bring heavy surf or rain.
