Star Clippers Cruises

Real sailing ships with tall masts that actually sail.

Star Clippers operates genuine tall ships: square-rigged, and they actually sail under wind power. The onboard feel is nautical and unstructured, with a small passenger count and a real emphasis on the sailing itself.

Best for:

Sailing enthusiasts

Small-ship purists

Couples

Adventurous travelers

Sails:

Caribbean

Mediterranean

Tips for Star Clippers Cruises

•These are real sailing ships — crew regularly raise and trim the sails, and guests can often help or watch up close.
•Cabins and amenities are simpler than a modern cruise ship — the draw here is the sailing experience, not onboard entertainment.
•Expect a much more nautical, hands-on feel than any conventional cruise ship — this is its own category of travel.

Popular Ships

Royal Clipper

Star Clipper

A smaller, classic clipper-style sailing ship.
